Our food pantry serves people living in the 53215 zip code. It is open Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A client may come once per month, and must bring in the following with each visit:
• A picture identification, such as Wisconsin State ID or Driver’s License
• A recent piece of mail with current address
• If picking up food for a family, must bring in identification for children such as a Forward card
We have preset stable items, such as canned veggies, fruit, soup, cereal, spaghetti and sauce, macaroni and cheese, tuna, boxed potatoes and canned stew. Clients shop for milk, peanut butter, boxed meal items, and several hygiene items including everyone getting toilet paper. They also shop for potatoes, fresh produce, bakery items, cheese, and frozen items (such as chicken, pizza, and sausage). Due to Covid-19, volunteers pre-package these items for safe distribution.
We serve 450 to 550 households per month, or about 500 adults and 750 children per month. 70% of the food distributed comes from the Hunger Task Force; 20 to 25% comes from donations from Feeding America, local stores, and food drives; 5 to 10% is purchased. Staffing is 100% volunteer.
