Ebenezer Stone Ministries: Transforming Lives Through Faith, Stability, and Resources

Ebenezer Stone Ministries believes faith in Christ is the cornerstone for renewing, restoring, and transforming individuals and families through stability, resources, and building strong communities.

Originally established in 2004, Ebenezer Stone Ministries started in the basement of Ebenezer Lutheran Church on 35th & Scott under the leadership of Hales Corners Lutheran Church. Starting as a small pantry a Saturday Pantry and Wednesday Soup Kitchen were created. As the mission grew groups of volunteers from churches were established. In 2013 Ebenezer Stone Ministries became official, serving as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our first and original location known as the Pantry or Ebenezer West, met the vital needs of the surrounding community by providing food, clothing, safety, and shelter to under-resourced families. As the community has grown over the years, so has the need for continued resources.

In 2020 during the COVID-19 global pandemic, while pantries were closing, Ebenezer stayed open to support the community. Staff and volunteers safely continued to provide hot meals, pantry items, and Covid-19 vaccinations to those in need.

In 2021 our blessings continued as we opened the first Redistribution Operation on the south side of Milwaukee. “Ebenezer East” is located in the valley of Milwaukee on Bruce Street. Because of the warehouse space of this location, we are able to reach an even larger part of the community, offering fresh produce, proteins, and shelf stable food for around thirty surrounding pantries and partners.

Still growing, the need to resource Milwaukee’s north side with food was evident. In 2022 the “Ebenezer North” Pop-Up Pantry was started in collaboration with Pastor Dennis Harmon of Hope Lutheran Church and Mission of Christ Lutheran Church. This centrally located space on 20th & Center helps us provide food to our north side families twice per month (when Wisconsin weather permits).

In beginning of 2026, Grace Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls approached us about serving their community. Grace began hosting Pop-Up Pantries once a month as the need for a pantry was great in that area. This expanded our reach to the northwest.

In Fall of 2024, both ESM and Hales Corners Lutheran decided that for Ebenezer to be a stronger stand-alone organization a separation from HCL would be the next move. A bifurcation of ESM and HCL was met in December of 2024. Hales Corners Lutheran continues to be an amazing supporter and partner of our mission, and we are so grateful for their continued dedication through so many years and present.

In August of 2025, devastating flood waters rushed Milwaukee. Ebenezer East Warehouse was severely impacted. Several feet of flood water caused extensive damage to pallets of food, and equipment. We had to shut down operations for an extensive amount of time. Which impacted our pantry and our pantry partners. After many weeks of cleanup and dumpsters of waste we continued to pray for answers. Knowing this could happen again, we decided that moving would be the answer. In the winter of 2025, we moved the warehouse to higher ground in West Milwaukee. Ebenezer Warehouse opened its doors to our pantry partners in April 2026. Our new space is smaller but serves our mission better.

Through all of these services and more, Ebenezer Stone Ministries strives to transform lives and build strong communities through faith, stability, and resources. The generous gifts and investments of our donors, grant providers, and volunteers continue to allow us to provide comprehensive services to our surrounding community members. We are so grateful to all who contribute to our ministry. We are blessed to bless others!
